What comes in for repair

The most common paint damage we correct is stone chipping — particularly across the front of the car and the lower rear doors and quarters, where the tyres throw debris. Add to that fine scratches, car-park knocks and the general marring that builds up on an unprotected daily driver. None of it is dramatic on day one; it accumulates until the car no longer looks new.

What PPF would have prevented

Stone chips and light abrasion to protected panels are exactly what film is built to absorb. The overwhelming majority of the chip repairs we do are on cars where a targeted or full-front PPF would have taken the hit instead of the paint. For a front end, or a Model Y's lower rear doors, film is the difference between a stone that bounces off and a chip that becomes a repair.

What PPF would NOT have prevented

This is the part other businesses tend to skip, and it is the most important. Film is impact protection, not armour. It will not save you from a heavy impact that dents a panel, from collision damage, or from a kerbed wheel. If a car comes in with damage that film would never have stopped, we will tell you that plainly — we would rather be straight with you than sell protection on a false promise.

Why prevention beats repair on original paint

Your Tesla's factory paint is original once. Matching a repair invisibly next to original paint is genuinely difficult and, done properly, not cheap. Preserving the factory finish with film is almost always the better outcome — it keeps the paint original, protects resale, and costs a fraction of refinishing later. When refinishing is the only option we do it to a proper standard — but the honest advice is to protect the panels that get hit before they need it.
