Tesla Trained | Tesla Specialists | Tesla Focused
Tesla vehicles benefit from professional ceramic coating systems designed to enhance gloss, improve cleanability and provide long term protection.
Our trained and fully qualified team performs all paint correction and machine correction work in-house before coating application. This ensures your Tesla achieves the best possible results while maximising coating performance and durability.
We exclusively use professional grade NXTZEN Ceramic Coating Systems which are Australian designed and made, providing exceptional hydrophobic performance, gloss enhancement and easier ongoing maintenance for Tesla owners throughout Melbourne.
Whether you drive a Model 3, Model Y, Model YL, Model S or Model X, our Coating package is designed to heighten and preserve appearance, reduce maintenance and add the protection you need.
Melbourne's Tesla ceramic coating specialists
Lucky Five Motorsport is a dedicated Tesla specialist — not a general detailer who also does coatings. Our founder, Michael Loverso, is a fully qualified, award-winning automotive specialist, trained and accredited by Tesla, and that expertise is the technical foundation every coating we apply is built on. Whichever of our qualified paint specialists works on your car, it is held to the same Tesla-first standard — inspected first, then corrected appropriately for the paint’s condition, and coated to a flawless finish.
Graphene is a next-generation coating technology that bonds to your Tesla's paint to form a durable, high-gloss protective layer. Compared with traditional ceramic coatings, graphene delivers superior water behaviour, reduced water spotting and greater long-term durability. At L5 Motorsport we install NXTZEN graphene systems — Australian designed and made — applied over paint correction matched to your car’s condition by our in-house Tesla Specialist Team.

NXTZEN is designed and manufactured in Australia, formulated for our harsh UV, heat and road conditions rather than imported for a different climate.

Meet your Tesla specialist
What actually makes a Tesla specialist?

Melbourne's original Tesla specialist. Watch Michael explain what genuine Tesla specialisation really takes — trained and accredited by Tesla, to a standard a general detailer simply can't match.

Hey guys, Mick from Lucky Five Motorsport. There are so many businesses out there describing themselves as a Tesla specialist — and it got me thinking: what actually makes a Tesla specialist?
A Tesla specialist is someone who knows the car inside and out — with technicians who are trained and accredited by Tesla to dismantle and work on these cars. If you're going to pull something apart, like a side camera or a rear camera, those cameras need to be recalibrated. To do that properly you need to be trained, you need all the equipment, and you need the software systems to talk to these cars.
A lot of shops out there aren't doing that — and that's the difference with us. Our technicians are trained and accredited by Tesla, we know how to do it, and we have the equipment to do it. Knowing that your car is being put back together correctly and safely is the most important thing — and that's what makes a Tesla specialist.
Expert automotive advice from inside the workshop

Our inspect-first correction process
Every coating begins with a thorough decontamination wash and clay treatment to strip embedded contaminants. We then carry out paint correction matched to each car’s condition — a light enhancement or full multi-stage as the paint needs — to remove swirls and restore clarity and depth. Paint correction removes material, so more correction is not automatically better.
The NXTZEN graphene is applied by hand in a controlled, dust-free environment by our Tesla Specialist Team, then cured before collection. The result is a flawless base and a finish built to last.
What's included
Both coating packages include paint correction matched to your car’s condition — up to full multi-stage where the paint needs it — and coating of all glass, not paintwork alone. This protects the entire exterior surface and improves visibility and water behaviour on the glass.
You receive a warranty certificate and a maintenance guide on collection.
NXTZEN Graphene Serum vs Elite GS02
NXTZEN Graphene Serum (7-year) delivers a deep, durable gloss with strong hydrophobic and contaminant resistance — our most popular coating for daily-driven Teslas.
Elite GS02 (12-year) is a self-healing, multi-layer system offering our highest level of durability and finish. Both are Tesla-safe and professionally installed by our Tesla Specialist Team.
Warranty and durability
The Graphene Serum is backed by a 7-year warranty; Elite GS02 by a 12-year warranty. Both coatings resist UV, water spotting, bird droppings and light marring.
Beyond protection, they make routine washing considerably easier and keep your Tesla looking newer for longer.
Aftercare
Allow the coating to fully cure — we'll confirm the timeframe on collection. After curing, maintain with regular pH-neutral hand washes and avoid automatic brush car washes.
A coating booster can be applied at service intervals to extend performance and gloss over the life of the warranty.
Why L5 Motorsport
We are Melbourne's original Tesla specialist. Founder Michael Loverso is a fully qualified automotive expert, trained and accredited by Tesla.
Every coating is installed by our Tesla Specialist Team, working exclusively on Tesla and EV platforms — factual advice, transparent pricing and an unrivalled standard of finish.
Your coating does most of the work — maintenance is simple, but a few habits keep it performing and protect your warranty. This is the guide we hand every client on collection. Save it, and reach out any time if you're unsure.
The first 7 days (curing)
Your coating is touch-cured on collection and water-resistant within roughly 15 hours, but it continues to fully cure over 7 days.
- Keep the car dry for the first 24 hours where possible.
- Avoid washing for the first 7 days if you can.
- If the car must be cleaned in that period, use only a pH-neutral product with no scrubbing or agitation.
How to wash
Hand wash only, at least once a month. Never use an automatic or brush car wash — the brushes will scratch the coating.
- Wash in the shade, never in direct sunlight (heat causes streaking and water spots).
- Pre-rinse thoroughly first to float off grit before you touch the paint.
- Use the two-bucket method (one wash, one rinse) with a clean microfibre mitt.
- Wash the cleanest panels first — roof, bonnet, boot — then upper sides, then lower panels last.
- Use straight front-to-back motions, not circular — this avoids swirl marks.
- Never use the same mitt on your wheels as on your paint.
Products to use
- pH-neutral car shampoo only — no harsh detergents, dish soap or degreasers.
- A soft microfibre wash mitt.
- A waffle-weave microfibre drying towel or microfibre chamois.
- A NXTZEN maintenance spray / booster to top up gloss and water-beading between washes.
Avoid any product containing wax, polish, cutting compound or abrasives — the coating is your protective layer and does not need them.
Drying
Always dry the car completely — never let it air-dry. Tap water leaves mineral deposits that harden into water spots.
- Use a waffle-weave microfibre towel or chamois; let it soak up water rather than dragging it.
- A low-pressure "sheeting" rinse helps water run off and makes drying quicker and safer.
Bird droppings, sap & tar
Remove bird droppings, tree sap and tar as soon as you notice them. Left on hot paint they can stain or etch the coating.
- Soften with a pH-neutral quick detailer and lift gently with a clean microfibre cloth.
- Never scrub hard or use an abrasive product to remove them.
If something has hardened or marked the surface, don't force it — contact us and we'll remove it safely.
What to avoid
- Automatic and brush car washes
- Washing in direct sunlight
- Circular scrubbing motions
- Abrasive polishes, cutting compounds or waxes
- Harsh detergents and degreasers
- Letting the car air-dry
Maintenance & boosters
Wash at least monthly — more often if the car lives outdoors or in a built-up area, where contamination builds up faster.
A NXTZEN top-up coating applied at intervals refreshes the gloss and hydrophobic performance across the life of your warranty. We're happy to book a maintenance detail and refresh it for you.
Warranty
Following this care guide keeps your coating performing and maintains your warranty (7 years on Graphene Serum, 12 years on Elite GS02). Keep your warranty certificate somewhere safe.
